From a colleague: Another fun horror story of what happens when you don't bother to estate plan..... got an email today from a decedent's child looking for the estranged spouse. Since no one bothered to get a divorce, guess who now has a right to all the community property and half the decedent's separate property? Hint: it's not the child....
